What happens when a woman who has escaped an abusive situation in which her oppressor was stalking her finds herself at a homeless shelter with no where else to go. She feels safe because she is in the women's quarters. The next morning, she wakes up to see her oppressor sitting on the cot beside her, staring at her.
He should not have been allowed in. There are rules about men being in women's quarters at the shelter. Yet, there he is.
How did he get there?
He, who would stop at nothing to torment her, claimed he was transgender.
Under an Obama-era rule, homeless shelters are supposed to make allowances for transgendered individuals.
Ben Carson, secretary of HUD, wants to end that, in order to curb the potential for abuse.
